About 328 Support Services GmbH
328 Support Services GmbH (328SSG) traces its roots back to Dornier Flugzeugwerke, a German aircraft manufacturer which began in 1914. The company was founded in 2006 to serve as the Type Certificate holder for the Dornier 328 TurboProp and Jet aircraft. 328SSG purchased the type certificate for the Dornier 328 and 428, as well as other assets, from Avcraft in 2005. The company’s main product, the Do328, is a regional aircraft that was manufactured in the 90s and early 2000s. It is certified in 85 countries, used by many major airlines, and used in both commercial and special mission applications. 328SSG is focused on supporting the fleet of Dornier 328 aircraft around the world. This comprises customer & technical support solutions such as design engineering and training. In 2015, the company was acquired by Sierra Nevada Corporation, an American aerospace supplier. In 2019, 328SSG announced the formation of a new OEM, DRA GmbH. together with DRA, 328SSG will manage future developments of the 328 aircraft. The company is currently based at Oberpfaffenhofen Airport near Munich, Germany, where it employs nearly 200 people.
