Commercial Transmissions
A large majority of the transmissions manufactured by Allison are sold to OEMs. This includes transmissions for Class 4-5, Class 6-7, and Class 8 straight trucks, conventional transit vehicles, shuttles, coach buses, school buses, motorhomes, and tractors. The product line includes the 3000 HS, 4000 HS, and the 4500 HS transmission systems. Allison Transmission provides electric hybrid-propulsion systems for transit buses, which use model type H 40/50.
In Europe, Allison focuses on emerging markets such as the emergency sector, coach, bus, and utility industries. In Asia, the company manufactures transmission systems for transit bus and vocational truck markets which utilize model type xFE transmissions.
Defense
Allison developed the first transmission system for tanks in 1946. The company continues to manufacture and distribute transmissions for heavy and medium tactical wheeled vehicle platforms including armored security vehicles, heavy expanded mobility tactical trucks, heavy equipment transporters, palletized loading systems, M915 series trucks, medium tactical vehicle replacements, and the logistic vehicle system replacement.
