ATR is a French-Italian aircraft manufacturer headquartered at Toulouse Blagnac International Airport in Blagnac, France. The company is a leading among manufacturers of regional aircraft up to 90 seats. The company was founded in 1981 as a joint venture between Aerospatiale (now Airbus), and Aeritalia (now Leonardo). Since its founding, ATR has sold nearly 1,700 aircraft to more than 200 operators in over 100 countries. The company manufactures two sizes of turboprop aircraft: the 70-seat ATR 72-600 and the 50-seat ATR 42-600. These aircraft are ideal for short-haul routes at low operating costs.
