About CFM International

CFM International began in 1974 as a joint venture between GE Aviation and Safran Aircraft Engines. Together, the two parent companies formed CFM International for the means of producing the CFM56 series of turbofan engines. Since its formation, CFM International has delivered more than 30,700 engines around the world, and the company continues to work on a large backlog of engine orders. Currently, CFM International has set their focus on designing new and improved engines, also striving to achieve cleaner and quieter air travel to lessen the impact that engines have on the environment.
